Q: What are the clear snow guards made of? the ones we have now are made from a cheap plastic that break frequently.
A: Our clear guards are made from highest quality virgin polycarbonate with UV stabilizers and are guaranteed to last for the life of your roof.
Q: Can a field of polycarbonate Icejax snow guards be used above vent pipes to prevent the pipes from being bent due to shifting snow/ice?
A: No, we do not recommend using snow guards just in isolated areas such as roof vent pipes or door ways. We sell a product made specifically for this purpose, available on this site called Ventsaver.
Q: What is recommended spacing for the Icejax I?
A: We suggest that you visit www.spacingtool.com You will need some info about your roof. Then we could determine which guard and how many you will need to hold the snow and ice on your roof.
Q: Is it better to have snow guards that break up the ice and snow or the one's that hold the ice and snow on the roof?
A: This really comes down to a personal preference. Your first step in making this choice should be to check and make sure that your roof can withstand the additional loading that snow retention can add.
Q: will the icejax I work properly with a westman tough rib roof?
A: The IceJax 1 will work well with this panel. This guard is designed so that it will be able to straddle a minor rib on the panel. It can be installed with adhesive or mechanically with screws
Q: What kind of a warranty do you have?
A: In order for your guards to come with full lifetime warranty, you will need to obtain a spacing layout from our Spacing Tool Estimator. You can find it easily at www.spacingtool.com.
Q: Sorry I found the answers on this page further down. A another question, How far apart do recommend to place the Snow Guard? Our roof panels have a rib every 8". thanks
A: You can get a free custom spacing layout for your roof at spacingtool.com.
Q: do you need a sealant or just screwed on ?
A: Both. Sealant locks out water leaks.
