Question

Q: I had a metal roof installed and last fall, the roofer added snow guards over the door to the house. This spring I discovered that all of the snow guards came off the roof when the snow slid off. The roof is metal over asphault shingles on a wood base. What do you recommend I purchase to reinstall the snow guards so that they don't get pulled off the roof again???

The snow guards should be mounted to at least 2 inches of solid wood substrate. If you access such as an attic, it would be beneficial to add a wood blocking underneath the deck. The Master Driller screw is used for mounting snow guards to a metal substrate and the Master Gripper screw is used for mounting the snow guards in to a wood substrate.
